Fall Cleanups: Why We Mulch and Bag Instead of Using Tarps and Leaf Loaders

Our latest video is live, and this one covers one of the most valuable changes we've made to our fall cleanup process over the years. We used to rely on leaf loaders, then moved to tarps, and eventually developed the mulch-and-bag system we use today. The biggest improvement came from reducing the leaves before collecting them. By mulching first and then using a mower-mounted bagger, we're able to collect material faster, fit more into our trailers, reduce dump runs, and cut down on the physical work involved. In this video, I cover: Why leaf loaders eventually became a bottleneck for our crews. How mulching reduces the amount of material we need to haul. Why a bagger attachment is such a valuable tool for fall cleanups. How solopreneurs can reduce heavy lifting and complete more jobs. How crews can work simultaneously to improve production speed. Our process today is simple: Blow → Mulch → Bag. Of course, every property is different, and there are still situations where tarps or other equipment make sense. But after thousands of cleanups, this has become the most efficient primary method for us. Watch the video, then I'd love to hear how everyone in the Hub is handling fall cleanups this season. Are you using a bagger, leaf loader, tarps, or something else? And what's been the biggest bottleneck in your process? Share your experience below. There's plenty we can all learn from seeing how other operators work.
